How can faith strengthen resilience and hope during anxious times?
How can I be sustained during the “marathon” as well as the “sprint” experiences in life?
How can I develop firm but flexible boundaries – ones that discourage overfunctioning and burnout and nurture collaboration and community?
During times of uncertainty, it can be tempting to live from a place of fear, frustration and helplessness. Our imagination, fueled by an abundance of news and opinions, can become flooded with negative images and consumed with negative thoughts. As a result, we can find that our functioning become increasingly reactive, thereby increasing our sense of fear, frustration and helplessness.
Our faith can help us to calm our fears, adopt a more hopeful perspective and consider how facing into a crisis can actually strengthen us. So,
Might I discover previously untapped inner strength – strength that I did not know I had, but that this experience can bring to the fore?
How might this experience be challenging me to order (or reorder) priorities?
How might I use my imagination – and engage with others’ imaginations – to discern new opportunities for creative living?
It can be reassuring to know that we do not have to face these challenges alone, that others are there to support us on our journey and that we can learn adaptive ways of coping with life’s stressors!
I understand that no two individuals are the same, so I will tailor our sessions to address the difficulties and reactions that are unique to you. We will work together to understand your challenges, determine your goals and augment your resources for the journey.
