Meet J. Allison St. Louis

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PhD, M.Div.

Hi! I’m Allison, and I believe that every human being is a unique, beloved and gifted part of creation.

As a clinical psychologist, spiritual director and Episcopal priest, I have met with numerous individuals over the years – during times of joy, excitement and celebration as well as during times of anxiety, frustration and despair.

In these often tender and deeply moving conversations, several essential truths were confirmed for me over and over again – truths that many of us already know. Most of us want to:

  1. Live with a sense of purpose and joy;
  2. Meet life’s challenges with resilience, strength and hope;
  3. Become more fully ourselves in the process, and
  4. Have healthy and life-giving relationships – relationships that nurture us AND challenge us to grow into our “best selves.”

I am passionate about supporting individuals and groups in using their time of this earth wisely – to develop their strengths, attend to their growing edges, and live a joy-filled and purpose-centered life! I recognize the importance of doing so in a safe and confidential manner AND in a challenging and gentle one. I will meet you where you are, and I will invite you to grow towards your goals – whether those are for greater psychological health, sense of purpose or spiritual well-being. Together, we discern the path that is best suited for the journey – pastoral psychotherapy, spiritual direction or equine assisted psychotherapy.

In a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner, I will work with you to understand your particular challenges, discover untapped strengths and learn effective ways of building the kind of life and the quality of relationships that you want for yourself.

I also offer premarital counseling, train clergy and laity to facilitate premarital counseling, lead individual and group retreats on deepening one’s relationship with God and workshops on Bowen Family Systems theory.

Feel free to contact me so we can begin your journey towards healing and hope.
